About the role
We are looking for a technically oriented Business Controller who will act as a model owner and analytical engine within the CFO Office.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, data engineering, and quantitative modelling, with a primary focus on developing and managing scalable, production-ready models and analytical frameworks.
You will own and develop financial and risk models, ensuring they are robust, governed, and fit for production use. The role includes working hands-on with data to build and maintain analytical datasets and model development, as well as performing advanced analysis such as scenario modelling and risk-adjusted performance assessments.
In addition, you will contribute to the broader finance and regulatory agenda, including financial reporting in terms of IFRS, capital and liquidity frameworks (CRR/ICLAAP), and key analytical processes such as interest income analysis, accrued interest and effective interest rate calculations and analysis, stress testing, and analysis of movements in the loan portfolio affecting expected credit loss model outputs and where possible overlays may be relevant. You will support the CFO Office in driving transformation initiatives, with a focus on improving, structuring, and automating internal reporting and analytical processes.
A key part of the role is to ensure strong ongoing monitoring, validation, and transparency of the models used, supporting both business decision-making and internal governance requirements.
You will collaborate closely across Finance, Risk, and Engineering, translating business problems into quantitative solutions and challenging existing models and assumptions to drive better decision-making and obtain better insights into operations and how this translates into financial and regulatory reporting
This is a position for someone who wants to work hands-on with data, code, and financial models to drive business decisions.
About you
We envision you as a highly analytical and technically oriented individual who can translate complex business problems into structured, data-driven solutions. You combine a strong quantitative mindset with an interest to understand financial and regulatory frameworks, enabling you to move seamlessly between high-level strategic context and detailed model logic.
With a proactive and curious approach, you challenge assumptions, refine models, and continuously seek to improve how data and analytics support business decisions. You thrive in a hands-on environment, working closely across Finance, Risk, and Engineering, and contribute as a collaborative team player committed to delivering robust, high-quality analytical outputs and building sustainable and integrated processes and guidance on robust infrastructure
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or financial mathematics. A master's or engineering degree is advantageous.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
Experience with programming and data tools (e.g. SQL, Python, or similar).
Ability to work in a structured and data-focused environment, with attention to both detail and overall model logic.
Proficiency in English and Swedish, both written and oral.
Strong curiosity and interest in the structure and governance of financial and risk dynamics within a bank. Experience in banking is meritorious.
We offer
An exciting position in a listed banking environment. You will get the opportunity to shape your role and be challenged which provides great opportunities for personal and professional development.
You will be centrally positioned in the business where things happen and have the opportunity to be a part of major and exciting business cases that shape your and the company's growth.
We offer a competitive compensation package complemented by a generous range of benefits, and flexibility to support your work-life balance.
